Coffee Sketch
It was the morning wake up for my daughter and I was sitting on the edge of her bed looking down at my black coffee. I thought it would make a nice sketch. I am not happy about the pants, but I like the coffee cup and my hands. I used the Canson Mixed Media XL 5.5 x 8.5in, 98lb, 160g sketchbook, a General Pencil Company Kimberly 6H pencil for the set up, and the Sakura Pigma Micron pens 03, 05, and 12.

I always find myself drawing and painting this Yellow Dwarf Umbrella Tree in my studio. Its crooked shape amazes me—it’s a wonder it’s still standing in its pot! For this watercolor piece, I started with a continuous blind contour sketch using a Uni-ball Eye Micro pen.
