Sketching Animals with Hats
The learning never ends. I signed up for Mike Lowery's class, Getting Paid to Draw, which has been excellent. This sketch started at the Zoom welcome party as a call out for ideas to draw. Animals with hats came out on top. I typically always draw with pencil set up, so this got me out of my comfort zone. Mike is laid back and super fun to listen to as you sketch. I used an illo 8 x 8 sketchbook (review coming on that), a Lamy Al-Star medium nib fountain pen, Carbon Ink Black, and the Uniball Vision 0.7mm. The Lamy medium nib's ink spread too much on this paper for me. I will be trying different pens on this paper over time.
This sketch started with photo roulette. You begin to scroll through your photo stream quickly and then randomly stop on a photo - and that’s what you draw.
